I went from software developer to whatever this is
What is the job I am doing now, when the tool, language and hardware matter less than they used to?

In the last year, I went from software developer to whatever this is. With AR/VR, I was already having a unique experience. I think with AI, the world I'm in, my job right now, is a very unique job. There's full stack developer, but then there's full stack plus AI developer, with experience in architecture and project ideation. It's very weird to be a developer in this day and age.
You're not just a web developer or an iOS developer. You either know how to talk to AI and read code, or you don't. And then from there, are you good at communicating? Are you good at coaxing the right solutions out of an AI interface? You're a programmer, but it's a completely different experience than sitting down and typing code or clicking through a bunch of configs in a panel. I'm using command line tools and MCP servers to set up systems and test systems.
It's a totally different job, actually. I want to spend more time on it because it's an interesting thought experiment. What is the job I'm doing right now? A person who makes digital things, or something. Whatever the tool, whatever the language, whatever the hardware, all of that just doesn't even matter anymore. I can just make it. That's a weird world. If you're advertising yourself as "an AR/VR developer" now, I think you're pigeonholing yourself into one job and limiting yourself in a way.
